John V. Fondacaro, DVM, MS, Diplomate American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (Internal Medicine)
Dr. Fondacaro, our internal medicine consultant earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Cornell in 1996, and is Chief of Staff of the Veterinary Medical Center of Long Island. In 1999 he received the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine Distinguished Research Award for his work on the diagnosis of canine and feline liver disease. He has subsequently authored textbook chapters, written scientific articles and lectured to veterinarians throughout the United States on topics in gastroenterology, hepatology, cancer and endocrinology.
He is currently the consulting internist for Thyrocat, a radioiodine facility in Holbrook dedicated to the treatment of feline hyperthyroidism. Additionally, he consults for numerous animal adoption and rescue centers including Bideawee, North Shore Animal League, Canine Companions for Independence, and the Guide Dog Foundation.
Victor Rendano Jr., VMD, MS, DACVR, DACVR(RO)
Board certified in both radiology and radiation oncology, Dr. Rendano oversees our diagnostic imaging, including our x-ray and ultrasound studies.
Dr. Rendano graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine and received his Doctorate in Veterinary Mediciane in 1972. After finishing a rigorous training program, he was inducted as a diplomate into the American College of Veterinary Radiology and received his board certification 1975.
Dr. Rendano worked at Cornell University as an associate professor and senior radiology clinician for 20 years. Dr. Rendano was awarded board certification in veterinary radiation oncology in 2001.
Dr. Rendano has published over 100 papers and has lectured throughout the world. The New York State Veterinary Medical Society and the University of Pennsylvania Alumni Society have honored him for his outstanding career and his dedication to the veterinary profession. A firm believer in veterinary continuing education, Dr. Rendano has offered radiology film reading sessions, ultrasound lectures and wet labs to primary care veterinarians.
